Press-conference with the Organizing Committee of the Biathlon World Cup Final in Khanty-Mansiysk was held today, on March’16 in the administration office of the region.The deputy governor of Ugra Alexey Putin was answering the questions of journalists.
Alexey Putin has informed about the process of getting ready for the international competitions, having noted that today Khanty-Mansiysk is absolutely ready to welcome around 200 athletes and the same number of officials from 27 countries that are arriving to Khanty-Mansiysk on 4 charter flights.
According to the deputy governor, a great attention is paid to broadcasting of the Biathlon World Cup Final races that will be done in HD format for the first time.
«International signal will be produced by 200 experts using more than 40 cameras placed along the perimeter of a track. German broadcasting company ARD will be working in Khanty-Mansiysk. The races of the World Cup Final will be broadcasted in Norway, Germany and Russia», — said Alexey Putin.
It is worth noting that tickets to the biathlon races found a quick sale. All tickets to the North stand and VIP stand of the stadium were sold out two weeks before the start of the competitions.
«Today it is still possible to buy tickets to North-East stand and Flyover Bridge. Tickets are sold through the booking office in the Tennis Centre of Ugra and from tomorrow they will also be sold in the Alexander Filipenko Winter Sport Centre. It is also to be noted that it will be possible to watch the races for free standing along the track», — said Alexey Putin.
Journalists were also told that the official Opening Ceremony will be held in the Tennis Centre of Ugra on March’17’2015 at 8:30 p.m. The Ceremony of awarding Crystal Globes will be also held there on March’22 at 7:30 p.m.
Alexey Putin has also stated that Khanty-Mansiysk is doing its best to keep the status of Russian biathlon capital and to return to Ugra not only the IBU World Cup Finals but also the Biathlon World Championships.
It is to be reminded that BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup Final 2014/2015 will take place in Khanty-Mansiysk on March’16-22. Around 200 athletes from 27 countries will participate in the competitions. The program of the World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk includes 6 men’s and women’s races in 3 disciplines: sprint, pursuit and mass start. The official Closing Ceremony and the awarding of World Cup trophies will be held on March’22 in the Tennis Centre of Ugra.
